We can no longer be satisfied with the visual of a STEM educational "pipeline model" that depicts a large pool of historically underrepresented students who steadily fall out at every stage along the way from K - college and beyond!
Many students in underserved communities may not have early access to STEM awareness, STEM curriculum or STEM career information. Some may step away and not go directly to college... or to college at all... but can opt for technical training opportunities.
